The US is escalating its opposition to European ESG directives, with Trump’s Commerce Secretary pick, Howard Lutnick, openly threatening trade measures against the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). His argument: the rules place an unfair burden on American companies.
