Equinor, Shell, and TotalEnergies invest $714M to boost CO₂ storage capacity

In a groundbreaking commitment to carbon reduction, Shell, Equinor, and TotalEnergies have pledged $710 million to expand the Northern Lights carbon storage project in Norway. This investment will more than triple its CO₂ injection capacity, targeting five million tonnes annually by 2028—10% of Norway’s emissions.
