Amcor has launched a new Machine Direction Orientation (MDO) line at its Peruvian facility, reinforcing its leadership in sustainable packaging across Latin America. The investment strengthens production of AmPrima Plus, a high-performance, recycle-ready film designed to help brands cut environmental impact without compromising quality.

The technology supports Amcor’s strategy to expand circular economy solutions while meeting the region’s rising demand for eco-friendly packaging. AmPrima Plus films are already in use across multiple markets, including personal care, food, and household products in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Costa Rica. Each application has demonstrated measurable environmental gains, including a 26% reduction in carbon footprint, 22% lower non-renewable energy use, and 19% less water consumption compared to conventional multilayer pouches.

The official launch event in September brought together over 70 key partners and customers to discuss sustainability trends and future applications of AmPrima Plus technology. The addition of the MDO line enhances Amcor’s ability to deliver consistent quality and high clarity packaging that meets both functional and aesthetic demands while remaining fully recyclable.

According to Laetitia Sanchez, Marketing Director for Amcor Latin America, the new line reflects Amcor’s ongoing commitment to responsible innovation and regional growth. The company continues to position itself as a driving force in sustainable manufacturing, empowering brands to shift towards environmentally sound packaging at scale.
