This award is open to organisations in Ireland with 50+ full time employees who can demonstrate effective sustainable energy initiatives. The judges will want to know everything you do in order to reduce your energy use and carbon dioxide emissions. You must explain what you have achieved so far, particularly over the last 12 months, and what you hope to achieve in the future. And we need to see evidence of an overall strategy that sets out your targets and how you plan to achieve them and hard statistics demonstrating year-on-year comparisons. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for a clear plan and evidence that it is delivering on core objectives, paying particular attention to the criteria listed below.

  • Organisation Background: Describe the size and nature of your organisation, including annual energy spend. Highlight any relevant accreditations, benchmarking, or external validation.
  • Strategy Overview: Outline your energy strategy, detailing its development, objectives, and measurable targets.
  • Implementation: Summarise how the strategy has been implemented, focusing on steps taken to improve energy efficiency, increase renewable use, and reduce emissions (both direct and indirect).
  • Organisation Commitment: Explain the commitment to staff training and communication around energy initiatives. Detail the level of support and engagement from the organisation and stakeholders.
  • Outcomes & Results: Detail the environmental and organisational benefits achieved so far, with a focus on reducing energy demand and increasing renewables. Provide year-on-year comparisons and evidence of how impacts were measured and reported.
  • Future Goals & Continuous Improvement: Outline your organisation’s future energy goals and plans for continuous improvement.
