Solaric Group, a Bangladesh-based industrial solar provider, has deployed a 16.9 MWp rooftop solar system at Ha-Meem Group’s Textile Zone in Mawna, Gazipur, designed to supply up to 40% of energy for spinning and denim operations.

The project marks the nation’s largest single-meter industrial solar installation and highlights the firm’s focus on renewable energy adoption across the textile sector.

Presented at the 22nd Solar Bangladesh International Expo 2025, the initiative reinforces the textile industry’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and meeting growing international sustainability standards.

Solaric’s approach leverages its Operational Expenditure (OPEX) model, enabling manufacturers to install solar infrastructure with zero upfront investment, no operational hassle, and zero carbon emissions from the generated electricity.

Director Eng. Naznin Akter emphasised the model’s accessibility for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), many of which face financial and technical barriers to implementing green energy solutions. The project complements Solaric’s broader portfolio, which now exceeds 130 MW of completed installations, with 25 MW delivered via the OPEX system.

The system will integrate solar-generated electricity across Ha-Meem’s spinning, denim, and textile facilities, cutting energy costs while supporting the company’s sustainability strategy. The scale of the project underlines the growing importance of renewable energy in industrial operations and demonstrates a practical pathway for manufacturers to meet global compliance and ESG requirements.

The deployment also exemplifies how solar infrastructure can support long-term energy transition strategies, combining financial efficiency with measurable environmental benefits. By offering operational simplicity and predictable energy savings, the model encourages broader adoption of renewable solutions in sectors traditionally dependent on fossil-fuel power.
