Permanent TSB (PTSB) has partnered with Irish modular home developer BuildWright to provide mortgages for their A2-rated energy-efficient homes, combining sustainable construction with flexible financing solutions. The partnership enables customers to access Green Mortgage rates ranging from 3.35% to 3.8%, depending on loan terms and loan-to-value (LTV).
BuildWright homes are delivered 90% complete from a controlled factory environment, including windows, doors, kitchens, and internal finishes, and are assembled on site in roughly six months. This modular approach contrasts with traditional self-build homes, which are entirely constructed on-site and often subject to variable costs and delays.
Homes start at €180,000 including VAT for the two-bedroom Cuileann, with additional site work costing approximately €40,000, totalling around €220,000. Larger options include the three-bedroom Drumlin Lodge at €355,000 and the four-bedroom Esker at €409,000. The modular design allows for future expansions depending on site accessibility.
Patrick Farrell, PTSB’s Chief Retail Banking Officer, said, “The modular one-off build segment is a targeted and developing area of the housing market. By partnering with BuildWright, we can provide more choice for would-be homeowners, particularly for people who wish to live in rural areas.”
Stephen Wright, BuildWright’s Managing Director, added, “PTSB is a market leader and so it is refreshing to see a leading Irish bank embrace the advantages that modern construction methods can offer. We look forward to continuing to transform and enhance the home-building journey for many customers in the years ahead, confident that in PTSB we have an outstanding partner for the funding requirements involved to provide new modular homes.”
The initiative supports sustainable housing development, reduces construction-related inefficiencies, and offers homeowners energy-efficient options while maintaining predictable pricing and timelines.
