Megawide Corporate Foundation, the social development arm of Megawide Construction Corporation in the Philippines, has completed two sustainability-driven projects that blend environmental responsibility with social impact. The initiatives reflect the Foundation’s goal of creating inclusive spaces that support both people and the planet.

In partnership with Megawide Construction, the Foundation turned over the newly renovated Milagrosa Dormitory at White Cross Children’s Home in San Juan City, Metro Manila. The facility was redeveloped under the EConstruction programme, which applies eco-friendly materials, upcycled resources, and efficient design to community projects. The dormitory provides a safer and more nurturing environment for children in care, embodying compassion through practical, sustainable construction.

White Cross President Mary Concepcion Young said the project gives the children “a renewed sense of home,” while Foundation Executive Director Atty. Mia Castro described it as proof that “engineering a better future begins with empathy and collaboration.”

The second initiative, the Bird Hide Project at Las Piñas–Parañaque Wetland Park, was designed as a sustainable viewing deck to promote birdwatching, biodiversity conservation, and environmental education. Built with recycled materials, it demonstrates how responsible construction can coexist with ecological preservation.

DENR-LPPWP Superintendent Christopher Villarin commended the project for strengthening urban biodiversity and providing a model for public engagement in conservation.

Through these initiatives, Megawide Corporate Foundation continues to show how sustainable design and social responsibility can drive meaningful change in communities.
