Joining this year's panel of sustainability experts, Malcolm Bell, CEO of Envetec Sustainable Technologies, joins the judging panel of the Green Awards 2026, bringing deep expertise in cleantech innovation, circular economy business models, and the commercialisation of environmental solutions at scale.

At Envetec, Malcolm leads an Irish cleantech company pioneering non-thermal treatment and recycling technology for laboratory plastics and biohazardous waste. The company's solutions are deployed across leading healthcare and life science organisations globally, demonstrating how purpose-driven technology can create measurable environmental impact while addressing critical industry challenges around waste management and resource efficiency.

A serial entrepreneur with a track record of building and scaling businesses, Malcolm previously founded Technopath Clinical Diagnostics, growing the company into a global leader in quality control before its successful acquisition. He later served as President and CEO of Northwell Holdings, bringing strategic leadership and operational discipline to portfolio companies across the healthcare sector.

Beyond his executive roles, Malcolm serves as a director at My Green Lab and holds investor positions in Chemishield and Impact Laboratories, reinforcing his commitment to supporting innovation in sustainable laboratory operations and hazardous waste management.

As a judge, Malcolm will bring a rigorous, commercially informed perspective to the Green Awards, which recognise organisations delivering environmental progress that is both measurable and scalable. His experience in translating scientific innovation into viable business models aligns closely with the awards' emphasis on impact, credibility, and long-term sustainability leadership.

With shortlisted entries now announced, attention turns to the Green Awards Gala on 24 February 2026 at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, where winners will be revealed before senior leaders from Ireland's sustainability community.

This year's judging reflects the continued evolution of the Green Awards, highlighting the importance of commercial rigour, innovation, and proven execution in accelerating Ireland's transition to a more sustainable future.
