Kingspan has raised €850 million through its debut green public bond, saying the proceeds will provide long-term capital to support the group's global growth.

Kingspan is a Kingscourt, County Cavan-headquartered building materials group listed on Euronext Dublin and the London Stock Exchange under ticker KRX, which reported revenue of €9.2 billion and profit after tax of €716 million for 2025. The bond carried a fixed average coupon of 4.1% across four and seven-year tranches.

The structural driver is investor appetite for green-labelled corporate debt that funds embodied-carbon reduction and low-carbon product capacity, an appetite Kingspan's own emissions record helps it capture. The group says it has cut its own greenhouse gas emissions by 70% since 2020 even as revenue doubled over the same period, a track record it can point to when marketing green-use-of-proceeds debt to fixed income investors.

The bond's order book attracted bids of €4.5 billion, leaving it five times oversubscribed and driving an average credit spread of 82 basis points, a 25 basis point reduction on the spread achieved on Kingspan's previous seven-year public bond in 2024.

Geoff Doherty, Kingspan's chief financial officer, said the bond "provides significant firepower to fund Kingspan's continued global growth," adding that "substantial demand for the bond drove highly competitive pricing" against the group's prior issuance.

The raise follows a period of accelerated capital deployment at Kingspan, which recently agreed to acquire BMC Manufacturing Group for up to €900 million to expand its data centre business, having earlier paused a €650 million share buyback programme to "appraise potential opportunities" in its acquisition pipeline.

For the sector, the oversubscription shows fixed income investors are willing to price a meaningful spread advantage into green bonds from issuers with a credible decarbonisation track record, adding a cheaper source of growth capital alongside equity buybacks and M&A.
