Straightline Aviation is making history with a $50 million deal to launch the Z1 hybrid airship, a breakthrough in low-emission aerial transport. Developed by AT² Aerospace, a spin-off from Lockheed Martin, the Z1 combines helium lift and vectored thrust to reach remote locations with just a fraction of traditional aviation’s environmental impact.

With the ability to land on almost any surface and cut carbon emissions by 90% compared to heavy-lift helicopters, this innovation could revolutionise logistics, disaster relief, and remote access operations. The first airship is expected by 2028, with deployment planned in Brazil, Alaska, and northern Canada.
