Grant Thornton has been named The ESG Best Performer of the Year (1000+ Employees) at the Green Awards 2025, recognised for embedding sustainability at the centre of its business strategy and delivering measurable progress across carbon neutrality, waste reduction and biodiversity initiatives.
Judges commended the firm for its data-driven approach, innovative engagement programmes and integration of sustainability commitments into governance and compensation structures.
The firm’s achievement reflects the steadily rising standards seen across the Green Awards, where leading Irish businesses continue to redefine what robust, evidence-based sustainability performance looks like.
Grant Thornton’s success adds to a strong lineage of winners who have demonstrated impact not only within their own operations but across the wider economy, setting benchmarks for transparency, innovation and long-term environmental stewardship.
As the focus now shifts to the next cycle, anticipation builds around which organisations will follow in these footsteps. With momentum continuing to accelerate across Ireland’s sustainability landscape, attention now turns to the year ahead and the contenders poised to define it.
The question now is: who will rise as the winner in 2026? We’ll soon find out as finalists for the Green Awards 2026 will be announced on 4 December 2025.
From there, the spotlight will shift to the main event, with the awards gala on 24 February 2026 at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, where Ireland’s sustainability leaders will gather to celebrate the sector’s continued progress.
