Irish sustainability training and certification provider Fifty Shades Greener has saved Irish businesses just over €2 million in energy costs in 2025 through workplace sustainability training, and has introduced LeafMark, a new three-tier sustainability accreditation programme targeting carbon-intensive sectors including hospitality, IT, and healthcare.
As reported by Clare Herald, the company partnered with more than 30 businesses in 2025, including the Fitzwilliams Hotel, Clayton Hotel Galway, Highfield Healthcare, and Climb Channel Solutions, saving each business an average of €66,000 in energy costs and delivering a 27% reduction per business. Fifty Shades Greener has seen 25% growth in its customer base in the first quarter of 2026.
Raquel Noboa, Founder of Fifty Shades Greener, said: "Very few providers involve their teams in their sustainability journey, and many don't realise what they stand to gain by empowering their employees with green skills. Through accreditation and training, providers can achieve significant savings on energy costs, which is particularly compelling given today's uncertain economy."
She added: "LeafMark enables businesses to build a culture where knowledge, awareness, and action sit at the heart of how an organisation operates. Sustainability is a win-win for everyone involved."
LeafMark is structured across three tiers. One leaf recognises organisations that have established a sustainability-aware culture. Two leaves indicate that an organisation has moved from awareness into practical operational action. Three leaves, the highest tier, identifies organisations embedding advanced sustainability expertise across their entire workforce.
Dublin's Mespil Hotel has become the first organisation in Ireland to achieve three LeafMarks, followed by Highfield Healthcare, with both recognised for integrating sustainability into strategy, culture, and daily operations.
Founded in 2017, Fifty Shades Greener works with businesses across Ireland to embed sustainability through staff training and green upskilling, supporting organisations in reducing their carbon footprint across energy, water, and waste usage.
