China escalates trade tensions with Canada through retaliatory tariffs

China has fired back at Canada’s import duties on Chinese EVs, steel, and aluminium with steep tariffs on key Canadian agricultural exports. From 20 March, rapeseed oil, oil cakes, and peas will face a 100% tariff, while aquatic products and pork will see a 25% levy.
