Casting a spotlight on one of its key supporters this year, Calor served as Gold Sponsor at the Green Awards 2026, supporting a programme that has recognised the outstanding sustainability achievements of Irish businesses since its establishment in 2008.
A leading energy provider delivering smart, lower-carbon solutions across rural Ireland, Calor has evolved considerably from its origins as Ireland's trusted LPG supplier. The company made history as the first to introduce BioLPG to the Irish market, a certified renewable gas offering up to 80 per cent emissions savings compared with conventional LPG, marking a significant step in Ireland's off-grid energy transition.
Focused on helping rural and off-grid customers access cleaner, more sustainable energy options, Calor's work sits at the intersection of energy security, rural accessibility, and decarbonisation, making its sponsorship of Ireland's longest-running green business recognition programme a natural fit.
Calor joined an extensive cohort of Gold Sponsors at the Green Awards 2026, alongside ESB's Smart Energy Services, Panda, Veolia, Uisce Éireann, Greenvolt Next, Skillnet Climate Ready Academy, Sustainable Enterprise Skillnet, Roadstone, Energia Group, KINTO Join, and Enterprise Ireland, reflecting the breadth of Ireland's sustainability community and the programme's reach across sectors.
Further support came from Shabra Plastics and Packaging Limited as Platinum Sponsor, CarbonClick as Carbon Offset Partner, and Amárach Research, with The Irish Times serving as Communications Partner.
The Green Awards celebrated achievement across a wide range of categories, with entries evaluated by an independent judging panel and winners recognised for demonstrating measurable commitment to environmental innovation and sustainable business practice.
The 2026 judging panel was co-ordinated by Daragh Anglim, Head of Impact at Broadlake, Padraig Ryan, Managing Director of Navitise Consulting, and Emeritus Professor Brian Norton of TU Dublin and Tyndall National Institute. The wider panel drew together senior figures spanning sustainability strategy, circular economy, energy, built environment, food systems, and ESG governance united by deep sector expertise and a shared commitment to advancing Ireland's sustainability agenda.
The gala took place on 24 February 2026 at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, bringing together hundreds of senior executives from across Ireland's sustainability sector.
