BB7 Consulting, a UK and Ireland-based fire, façade, and building safety advisory firm, has merged with Germany’s CERTANIA Group to create one of the most comprehensive consultancies in the built environment sector.

Founded in 2009, BB7 is a certified B Corporation recognised for its sustainability-led approach and commitment to responsible business. With 10 offices and over 150 professionals, the firm helps clients design and maintain safe, compliant, and energy-efficient buildings.

The partnership provides BB7 with greater resources and international reach while maintaining its independence and core values. Founder and CEO Ben Bradford described the merger as a “defining moment” that enhances the company’s mission to create safer, more sustainable spaces through scalable innovation.

For CERTANIA, headquartered in Munich, the deal accelerates its expansion into the UK and Ireland. Known for its expertise in testing, inspection, and certification across construction, infrastructure, and energy, CERTANIA will integrate BB7 alongside Clarke Banks and Xact under its Buildings and Infrastructure division.

CERTANIA CEO Karsten Xander said BB7’s reputation for technical leadership and its “entrepreneurial mindset” align with the group’s goal of building a network of trusted, quality-driven specialist firms.

The deal also marks a successful exit for growth investor BGF, which has supported BB7 since 2019.
