AIB has confirmed the continuation of its SME Sustainability Sponsorship Programme with GreenTechHQ, Ireland’s first Sustainability Innovation Hub, based in Enniscorthy. The initiative supports Irish SMEs as they integrate resource efficiency, governance and long-term resilience into core business operations.

AIB has partnered with GreenTechHQ since its establishment in February 2023, citing the importance of a regional, enterprise-led model that enables companies to translate sustainability ambitions into measurable commercial outcomes.

GreenTechHQ provides mentoring, training and practical supports designed to drive growth, innovation and employment across the South East.

“This partnership brings together two organisations with a shared goal: enabling SMEs to grow stronger, more resilient and become future-ready,” said Jonathon Looby, corporate liaison and events manager.

“Through tailored training, education and practical supports delivered at GreenTechHQ, AIB and GreenTechHQ are empowering businesses to make sustainability a commercial advantage – improving energy efficiency, reducing costs, strengthening governance and unlocking new market opportunities,” he added.

The collaboration aligns AIB’s sustainability-focused financial products and advisory services with GreenTechHQ’s programmes in innovation, business excellence and ESG implementation. According to Looby, this creates a powerful end-to-end pathway for SMEs – from awareness and capability building through to action and investment.

The partnership also extends beyond the physical hub, with an emphasis on reaching enterprises across the wider South East region. The aim is to support SMEs at different stages of maturity, ensuring practical guidance and access to capital as firms respond to regulatory expectations, cost pressures and evolving market demand.

Recent momentum was marked by the launch of the second phase of Business Advantage and Sustainability South East (BASSE2026), GreenTechHQ’s Enterprise Ireland–funded accelerator for scaling SMEs.
