In order to make the process simpler and more time efficient, all entries for the Green Awards must be submitted online.

Please read the How to Enter page and our Entry Guide carefully before submitting your entry; here you will find the information needed to create your entry document, as well as a Step-by-Step Guide on how to submit your entry. Please also make yourself familiar with the Awards' Terms and Conditions.

Please note that all sections must be completed to submit your entry, and the maximum size of each item to be uploaded must be no more than 8MB.

You cannot enter this category as the winner will be chosen from the winners of the Organisation Awards; The Green Construction Award, The Green Energy Provider Award, The Green Food & Beverage Award, The Green Manufacturing Award, The Green Pharmaceutical Award, The Green Professional Services Award, The Green Retailer Award, The Green Seafood Business Award, The Green Tourism & Entertainment Award and The Green Transport Award.

This award will go to the person that has made a significant contribution to the tackling of climate change and the environment in Ireland. The winner can be nominated by themselves, the judges, or members of the public.

The award is open to people who have themselves set up a new start-up green business, or to long established entrepreneurs who have spotted an opportunity and invested in or supported the launch of a new “green” business.


Green Large Organisation of the Year

This award is open to any large organisation (250 employees plus) in Ireland who can demonstrate a bottom-up best environmental practice in all aspects of running a large business.


Green Medium Sized Organisation of the Year

This award is open to Medium Sized Organisations (51-250 employees) who have implemented a green strategy designed to reduce the impact your business makes on the environment as you deliver your products and services.


Green Small Organisation of the Year

This award is open to any small business (less than 50 employees) in Ireland who can demonstrate that good environmental practice is a key business strategy and part of the everyday operations of the business.


Green Public Sector Organisation of the Year

This award is open to councils, government departments and all sections of the public service who have provided a comprehensive array of green-enabling services and who have actively encouraged businesses and consumers to become greener in outlook and practice.


Green NGO of the Year

This award is open to NGOs who are involved in all areas of community, national and international activities who have engaged in active greening of practices or undertaken sustainability measures.


Sustainability Team of the Year

This award recognises environmental efforts through teamwork. It is open to teams of people in any sphere who have come together to work on environmental challenges that show us the power of group work and innovative thinking.

The Green Retailer Award

This award is open to retailers of all sizes on the island of Ireland with a policy on green procurement and local sourcing of goods; online retailers are also eligible.

This award is open to organisations involved in Ireland’s Seafood industry. The judges will want to know everything you do in order to achieve your green objectives and we mean everything – from issues such as transport, energy and water reduction, to staff engagement and community involvement.


The Green Tourism & Entertainment Award

This award is open to any business operating in the tourism, hospitality and entertainment sectors who can demonstrate a comprehensive programme to minimise the impact that their business operations is having on the environment.


The Green Transport Award

This award is open to logistics and transport sector organisations that can demonstrate a comprehensive programme of actions or initiatives which promote sustainable transport.


The Sustainable Energy Achievement Award

The Sustainable Water Achievement Award

This award is open to any organisation in Ireland that has made improvements or used innovative methods to result in water savings or water quality improvement.

This award is open to any organisation in Ireland that has implemented a green supply chain strategy that requires the suppliers they use in their core business enterprise to adhere to a specific set of guidelines to ensure optimal green practices throughout the chain.
